Get Unstuck! How to STOP Overthinking and Move Forward in Faith
Have you ever felt frozen by indecision, not sure what choice to make? Maybe you've worried about making the wrong decision or wondered if you were stepping outside of God’s will.
So, if you’re ready to get unstuck and trust God in all your decisions, stay tuned. Enjoy!
Every day we make countless decisions. What will we wear, eat, or what is the best route to take in traffic? Many of these are small choices we barely think about. But other times, we’re faced with bigger decisions that seem overwhelming. Sometimes, we find ourselves feeling stuck—not moving forward or not making a choice. Instead, we’re simply… frozen.
So in today's video, you will learn:
- What’s really causing indecision and fear of moving forward.
- Why faith is essential in making decisions.
- How to overcome doubt and step confidently into God’s plans for your life.
First, here’s what we need to understand about indecision: it doesn’t always allow us to gather extra time or information. When we have all the information we need but still don’t act, we’re often stuck not because of a lack of knowledge, but because of fear. We fear the unknown outcomes, and we fear what might happen if we make the “wrong” choice. We might even worry that our decisions will take us outside of God’s will. So, we do nothing.
The root cause of this frozen feeling is often a lack of faith. When we don’t trust that God will guide us, it’s easy to fall into doubt and inaction. But Hebrews 11:6 tells us it is impossible to please God without faith. Faith in His love and care for us, faith that He’ll direct our steps, and faith that He’ll guide us if we begin to drift off track.
Now, let’s be clear: I’m not talking about decisions related to clear moral or Biblical guidelines. When God’s will is already clear, we should follow that. I’m talking about those times when the choice isn’t so black and white, when God seems to say, “Trust me. Make a choice, and I’ll be with you.” It’s in these moments that God invites us to step out in faith.
Recently, I shared in Sunday School that I’ve often faced these situations too. I don’t want to miss God’s will or go down a path that’s not best for me. Over the years, I’ve learned that God orders our steps. He knows how to get my attention if I veer off track. He knows how to guide me back, just like a parent watching over their child.
Here's the beauty: it’s true for you, too. If you’re connected to God in prayer and genuinely seeking His will, He’ll direct you. Psalm 37:23 says:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.” (â€â€Psalm‬ â€37‬:â€23‬ â€NKJV‬‬)
You don’t have to be afraid of going the wrong way. If you’re living for God and your heart is for Him, He’ll steer you back to where you need to be. That’s His promise.
Imagine seeing a child about to stumble or wander off. Would you, as a loving parent, just stand back and let it happen? No. You would step in to help, to guide, and to redirect. That’s how God works with us. He has a plan for each of us, and He isn’t going to leave us without guidance or clarity when we need it.
So, Beloved, my encouragement to you is this: Trust God with the decisions you need to make today. Take the leap of faith, knowing that a choice made with faith is a choice God can work with. Don’t let doubt stop you from living out the purpose He has for you. A decision made in faith, even if imperfect, will lead you in the right direction because it’s rooted in trust in Him.
Take heart—God is with you in every step, and He’s working for your good. So trust Him, make that decision, and walk forward in faith.
